Who were those women gathered out in front of the Exeter Town Offices early in the morning with their trunks full of red, white, and blue flowers? It was members of the Exeter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution!
In an agreement with Parks and Recs Director, Greg Bisson, and Town Administrator, Pam McElroy, the Exeter DAR has adopted the (newly replaced) antique horse watering trough to be their signature garden this year. Stop by and admire the hydrangeas, geraniums, lobelia and much more. This patriotic garden reminds us all that “America is free because of the brave.”
Daughters are vibrant, active women who are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating children, as well as honoring and supporting those who serve our nation. Won’t you join them as they begin preparations for the 250th birthday of America, which Exeter - The “Revolutionary Capital of NH”- will celebrate in style.

Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join this non-partisan group. They meet one Saturday morning a month in Exeter to plan service projects and civic commemorations. Each Daughter is encouraged to let her own sparkle shine by picking and choosing projects to be involved with.
