DAR Wreath-Laying Ceremony for Revolutionary War Soldiers in Exeter

The Exeter Chapter, NH of the Daughters of the American Revolution invite you to a brief "Wreaths Across America" ceremony at the historic Winter Street Cemetery in Exeter, NH at noon on Saturday, December 16th.
The historic cemetery is the final resting place of over 30 Revolutionary War soldiers, and the families who supported them. Revolutionary War participants include: Exeter Minute-Man, John Taylor Gilman who later served as NH Governor, military surgeon Dr. Samuel Tenney (husband of one of the first female novelists in the new US, Tabitha Gilman Tenney) who later served as US Representative, and one of the longest-serving men of the conflict, Black patriot, Jude Hall, who served from Bunker Hill to the very end.
The Exeter chapter of the DAR is a dynamic group of non-partisan women who work on the national three-part mission of: historic preservation, education, and patriotism. They are 65 members strong, and meet one Saturday a month in Exeter. Any women who has a patriot ancestor in her lineage is welcome to join. See website http://exeter.nhsodar.org/
