• Two Massachusetts Men Rescued from Mount Lafayette (einpresswire.com) — Two Massachusetts hikers were rescued overnight after getting lost and suffering hypothermia high on Mount Lafayette above Franconia, where deep snow, high winds, and single-digit temperatures complicated the effort. Conservation officers, volunteer rescuers, and an Army National Guard helicopter responded, ultimately helping the pair hike out safely. Officials are urging anyone heading into Franconia Notch’s winter conditions to be fully prepared or stay home.
