11 Year Old Hit by Car in Hampton

The accident occurred on Route 1 on Monday afternoon.

Hampton Police are investigating a crash that occurred on Route 1 at the intersection of Ann’s Lane around 2:40 p.m. Monday.

The crash involved a single vehicle that struck an 11-year-old pedestrian in a crosswalk. Hampton Fire and Rescue Ambulance transported the child to Exeter Hospital due to a serious leg injury.

The vehicle, a 2001 Tan Mercury sedan, was operated by Paul Wright, 61, of Amesbury, MA. Wright was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
