As expected, the state has increased the severity of the charges against a Seabrook mother who forced her children to ingest bleach.

Wendy Wright, 33, of 15 True Road in Seabrook, has been indicted on two attempted murder charges and two attempted first degree assault charges for force-feeding her 7-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son bleach on June 18 after telling them it was "medicine."

Wright, who also drank the bleach, was originally only charged with attempted first-degree assault following her release from the hospital. A prosecutor previously told Patch that murder charges were a possibility, though, and that the decision to upgrade the charges would hinge on the severity of the injuries suffered by the children.

The indictment was handed down this month in Rockingham Superior Court. Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams said the investigation is still ongoing, and that the indictments represent two time periods of the investigation — July to December 2012 and January to June 2013 — that "have been finished."

Wright's indictments all carry an incident date of June 18, 2013.

The attempted murder charges carry a penalty of life in prison, while the attempted first degree assault charges are Class A felonies.
