New Chairman Knocks Press for 'Fanning Flames'

Nichols speaks to controversy of Bean's removal as chair of Hampton selectmen. Residents sound off.

Richard Nichols, chairman of the Hampton Board of Selectmen, addressed the controversy and media coverage of the board's removal a week ago of Philip Bean as chairman. Selectman Ben Moore later resigned.

He knocks the press, including Patch, for "fanning the flames."

Residents also sounded off about the board upheaval and actions. "What I saw last week was a disgrace," said Bob Preston. 

John Nyhan noted he was sorry to see Moore resign. He and Preston both urged the board to consider Rick Griffin as a successor.
