A Colorado man has been indicted in Rockingham Superior Court for one count of felonious sexual assault after he allegedly had intercourse with a 15-year-old girl in Hampton. David Cowan, 23, of 2203 Cherry St., Apt. C, in Longmont, Colo., faces up to seven years in state prison if convicted of the Class B felony. The indictment alleges Cowan knowingly "engaged in sexual penetration" with the minor in Hampton on or about Aug. 23, 2012. An indictment is not an indication of guilt or conviction; rather, it means a grand jury believed there was sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
