Crash Knocks Out Power to 1,000 During Super Bowl
The accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. in Kingston.
A motor vehicle accident in Kingston knocked out power to about 1,000 Unitil customers on the New Hampshire seacoast on Sunday afternoon.
The crash occurred on New Boston Road around 2:45 p.m., according to emergency radio broadcasts. Unitil spokesman Alec O'Meara said about 950 customers lost power in East Kingston, Kingston and Newton.
The power company needs to replace a broken pole before it can bring customers back on, a process that was expected to last several hours. Power was expected to be restored by 9:30 p.m. For updates on the outage, go to untitil.com/map.
