Hampton police are seeking the public's help in identifying the cause of a Tuesday morning accident that sent multiple people to the hospital.

Lt. Dan Gidley said an eastbound vehicle on High Street and a northbound vehicle of Mill Road collided around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

All of the occupants within the northbound vehicle were transported to area hospitals, and the driver of that vehicle was later transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass., according to Gidley. The injuries were all described as non-life-threatening.

Gidley said both vehicles suffered "significant damage" during the collision, which occurred in an area between Hampton Academy and Marston School around the time students get dropped off at school.

A person close to the individuals within one of the vehicles posted on Patch that the "little girls" and "grandmother" riding in the northbound vehicle are "ok [sic]," and that the injuries suffered by the "grandfather" in that vehicle are "serious."

"We are blessed it was not worse," wrote the poster.

Gidley said anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been in the area Tuesday morning is asked to contact Officer Vitalijs Sorokins at 929-4444.
