North Hampton Man a Finalist for Red Sox Announcer Gig
A local fan could be the next voice of Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox.

North Hampton voiceover artist and Boston Red Sox fan Larry Murphy said he would be "over the moon" if he gets a third audition callback to be Fenway Park's new public address announcer after trying out Wednesday along with 34 other finalists, according to the Hampton Union.
Murphy — who read four pages of introductions, teams lineups and special guest announcements while four active Boston Red Sox players and numerous team executives sat in the stands Wednesday — told the Hampton Union he "stumbled" on a couple of words and had "more butterflies" than his first audition. If Murphy — one of 340 original auditioners for the job — is tabbed for a third callback, he'll put his voice to the test during a spring training game in Fort Myers, Fla.
