Good morning, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five things you need to know for Friday, Feb. 1:
1. Get Those Papers In: The official filing period for town and school candidates ends at 5 p.m. in both Hampton and North Hampton. There have been some big filings so far, although there are many unopposed reelection bids and undeclared incumbents.

3. Last Day to Take Winnacunnet High School Technology Survey: The WHS Technology Committee is looking for locals to take a targeted survey to help collect technology use data, which will "be used to provide a foundation for the goals and action items for updating Winnacunnet's long range technology plan," according to the school's website.
The surveys can be found here, and the committee is asking residents to complete the appropriate survey before Feb. 1.
4. This Day in History : On this day in 1884, the first portion, or fascicle, of the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), considered the most comprehensive and accurate dictionary of the English language, was published.
