2. Today’s Featured Fun: Lane Memorial Library has a free showing of "Hitchcock," starring Anthony Hopkins, at 5:30 p.m.

3. Park and Ride Coming to Hampton, Just South of Downtown? A proposal is in the works, and there's a public session tonight about it.

4. This Day in History: On this day in 1879, Albert Einstein was born, the son of a Jewish electrical engineer in Ulm, Germany.

Einstein's theories of special and general relativity drastically altered man's view of the universe, and his work in particle and energy theory helped make possible quantum mechanics and, ultimately, the atomic bomb.
