1. Today’s Featured Fun: Thursday is the final day of the juried art exhibit showcasing Hampton students' work at Provident Bank.

2. In Case You Missed It: A former Seacoast-area bus driver who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing autistic children on his route while taping the acts will look to appeal the 160-year prison sentence for his crimes.

3. What Else Is Happening Today? The Hampton Beach Area Commission will meet at 7 p.m. at the Hampton police station, while the Hampton Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

4. This Day in History: Beatlemania was at its peak in the winter of 1964, but not every music fan had the Beatles' brand of rock and roll on their turntable. In fact, it was jazz music—vital, innovative, contemporary jazz music—that captured the imagination of a significant proportion of American music fans in 1964, and no jazz musician at that time was more vital, innovative and contemporary than Thelonious Sphere Monk.

So important was jazz on the American cultural scene, and so important was Monk in the world of jazz, that his portrait graced the cover of Time magazine on February 28, 1964.
