2. Hampton Man Due in Court on Child Porn Charges: A 2011 Winnacunnet High School graduate was scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing on felony child pornography charges in Hampton District Court at 11 a.m.

3. What Else Is Happening Today? The North Hampton Conservation Commission will meet at 7 p.m. at North Hampton Town Hall, and there's an SAU 21 Joint Board meeting at 7 p.m. in the WHS lecture hall.

4. This Day in History: On this day in 1475, Michelangelo Buonarroti, the greatest of the Italian Renaissance artists, was born in the small village of Caprese.

The son of a government administrator, he grew up in Florence, a center of the early Renaissance movement, and became an artist's apprentice at age 13. Demonstrating obvious talent, he was taken under the wing of Lorenzo de' Medici, the ruler of the Florentine republic and a great patron of the arts.

For two years beginning in 1490, he lived in the Medici palace, where he was a student of the sculptor Bertoldo di Giovanni and studied the Medici art collection, which included ancient Roman statuary.
