2. In Case You Missed It: The late Chief Michael Maloney and some Hampton lifeguards are among the individuals receiving hero awards later this winter.
3. What Else Is Happening Today? The Hampton Conservation Commission will meet at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
The supervisors of the North Hampton Voter Checklist will hold a public session from 7 to 7:30 p.m. in the Town Clerk's Office to approve pending voter applications and removals to the checklist.
4. This Day in History: On this day in 1973, in a historic decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that women, as part of their constitutional right to privacy, can terminate a pregnancy during its first two trimesters.
Only during the last trimester, when the fetus can survive outside the womb, would states be permitted to regulate abortion of a healthy pregnancy.
