Friday's Heat Ties Record High

Numerous thermometers read 100 degrees and higher on the hottest day of the heat wave.

While officials temperatures in New Hampshire didn't quite hit 100 today, it was officially the hottest day of the heat wave.

According to WMUR, Portsmouth tied the record high at 96 degrees while temperatures hit 97 degrees in Manchester and reached 95 in Concord.

Thermometers around the state read higher than that, as they cooked in the hot sun. The thermometer in Merrimack at 3:41 p.m. read a whopping 115 degrees while Nashua late in the afternoon read 101 and Hampton showed a temperature of 100 at 4:30 p.m..

The good news is cooler air is headed our way. Saturday is expected to be around 92 degrees while Sunday's predicted high is 79. Next week is expected to settle into the low 80s.

Did you glance at your own thermometer Friday? How hot did it read?
