Hampton Woman Set for Arraignment in Fatal DWI Crash

Police say Danielle F. Kooyoomjian, 29, was drunk when she struck a pedestrian who later died as a result of his "serious" injuries.

The woman who allegedly caused a car versus pedestrian accident off Hampton Beach that killed a man Sunday will be arraigned in connection to the incident at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, according to the Hampton Police Department.

Danielle F. Kooyoomjian, 29, of Hampton, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 1 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Hampton, according to a release issued Tuesday night by Hampton Police Lt. Tom Gudaitis.

The pedestrian — Charles Sayre, 57, of Amesbury, Mass. — was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital due to "serious" injuries, according to Gudaitis. He said Sayre was pronounced dead at the hospital on Monday.

The crash is still under investigation. Police couldn't be reached for additional comment about the case Tuesday or Wednesday.
