Help Decide the 'Facebook Favorite' Hampton Beach Sand Sculpture
A new award — decided by you — will be given to one competitor in the now-concluded Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition.

Good morning, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five things you need to know for Wednesday, June 26:
1. Today's Top Thing: New to the Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition this year is a "Facebook Favorite" award. Hop over to this page on the popular social networking site to pick your favorite sculpture by July 15.

2. Today’s Featured Fun: Lane Memorial Library's Ladies' Night Out movie series continues with "Safe Haven" at 5:15 p.m.

3. What Else Is Happening Today? The New Legacy Swing Band will play the North Hampton Bandstand at 6 p.m.
Also, the Lane Memorial Library Teen Summer Reading Program begins, and the Continentals will play the Hampton Beach Seashell Stage from 7 to 9:30 p.m. before the Wednesday night fireworks display begins.
4. This Day in History: On this day in 1945, in the Herbst Theater auditorium in San Francisco, delegates from 50 nations signed the United Nations Charter, establishing the world body as a means of saving "succeeding generations from the scourge of war."
The Charter was ratified on Oct. 24, 1945, and the first U.N. General Assembly met in London on Jan. 10, 1946.
