How Much Snow Did Hampton Get During Blizzard of 2013?

The Hampton area received a lot of snow, but was it the most on the Seacoast and in New Hampshire?

Large snowdrifts made it difficult to take accurate measurements following this past weekend's snowstorm, although a variety of sources are declaring Hampton and other Seacoast communities received more snow than most of the New Hampshire during the Blizzard of 2013.

Raymond Whitley, a 26-year National Weather Service cooperative observer and retired science teacher who is now blogging on Hampton-North Hampton Patch, reported 21 total inches of snow were dumped on Hampton during the blizzard.

WMUR has reported only 18 inches, though, while Patch readers reported between 21 and 24 inches in their yards. All of those measurements place Hampton — which was hit with more than just snow — just above average in WMUR's chart.

North Hampton totals weren't available Monday, although WMUR has reported that Seabrook received 26.2 inches, which was the highest reported total accumulation on the Seacoast.

The New Hampshire community that received the most snow, according to WMUR, was Farmington, topping out around 34 inches. Littleton had the lowest reported total at 9 inches.
