Jara Wins Sand Sculpting Competition for 2nd Straight Year

Carl D. Jara's piece, "Infinity," helped propel him to Hampton Beach's top prize for the second year in a row.

Carl D. Jara, of Lyndhurst, Ohio, was awarded top honors Saturday in the 2013 Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition.

Jara followed up his impressive showing in the 2012 competition — which he also won — with a piece entitled "Infinity," which depicted a large, detailed, stone-like man holding infinite versions of himself in his hand.

Video of Jara talking about the win can be found here, while photos from the rest of the competition can be found here.
