Local Mom Facing Life in Prison Pleads Not Guilty

Wendy Wright, who held her children down and forced them to drink bleach, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges.

A Seabrook mother who held her children down and forced them to drink bleach has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges, according to Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams.

Wendy Wright, 33, of 15 True Road in Seabrook, was recently indicted on two attempted murder charges and two attempted first degree assault charges for force-feeding her 7-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son bleach on June 18 after telling them it was "medicine."

Reams told Patch Wednesday that Wright has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and he said Wright is still incarcerated. Details about upcoming court appearances wasn't available Wednesday.

Wright allegedly told her children — whom police said are safe — that the bleach was "medicine" before forcing them to drink it. Wright then reportedly also ingested bleach.

Reportedly, police have said they overheard Wright claim, "I don't want to live," and, "I really love my kids but I wanted to save them from everyone else," while at Wright's home on June 18.
