Man Indicted After Drug Raid at Hampton Motel

An undisclosed quantity of narcotic drugs, drug paraphernalia, money and weapons were seized during the raid.

One of the men arrested earlier this year after police broke up an alleged narcotic drug ring at a Hampton motel has been indicted for attempting to sell heroin.

Brian Maguire, 24, a Newburyport, Mass., resident currently incarcerated at the Rockingham County House of Corrections, was indicted this month on a Class B felony count of possession of a controlled drug with intent to sell.

The charge stems from May 17, which is when Maguire was arrested along with Joshua Maguire, 25, also of Newburyport, Mass., following a drug raid at the Stone Gable Inn.

The Maguires were arrested after police executed search warrants on two rooms at the motel. Investigators recovered "a quantity of narcotic drugs, drug paraphernalia, money and weapons," among other items, during the raid, according to police.

Brian Maguire was charged with felony possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, while Joshua Maguire was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested on an outstanding warrant.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt or conviction; rather, it means a grand jury believed there was sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
