Masked Female Burglar, Stalker Pleads Not Guilty

Dawn Thompson faces felony and misdemeanor charges for allegedly burglarizing her ex-boyfriend's Hampton home.

An East Haverhill, Mass., woman accused of donning a mask and breaking into her ex-boyfriend's 2 Overlook St. home has pleaded not guilty to stalking the man.

Dawn Marie Thompson, 41, was arraigned Wednesday on a felony count of burglary and a Class A misdemeanor stalking offense, according to Hampton District Court staff.

Thompson entered a not guilty plea for the stalking charge. Pleas aren't accepted on felony charges, and Thompson is scheduled for a probable cause hearing for that offense at 11 a.m. on Sept. 18, according to court staff.

Thompson was charged after a "confrontation" with her ex-boyfriend around 7 a.m. on Aug. 9 after he came home and allegedly found Thompson in the home attempting to steal items, according to Hampton Police Lt. Dan Gidley.

Officers located Thompson walking in the area a "short time later," said Gidley. The victim identified Thompson, whose car was found on Winnacunnet Road near Acadia Avenue, as the woman in his home.

Police have said officers have responded to 2 Overlook St. on "at least" six other occasions for criminal mischief, burglary and harassment calls.

Police have also said there were multiple victims involved in the Aug. 9 incident, and that the victims recently moved to Hampton from York, Maine. It's possible Thompson was involved in a similar burglary at the victims' York home, and York authorities are reportedly investigating that possibility, according to Gidley.
