SATURDAY, FEB. 9

Find out what's happening in Hampton-North Hamptonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

6:27 p.m.: Ocean Boulevard is now fully reopened, as is Willow Avenue in North Hampton.

2 p.m.: Here's what you need to know about the aftermath of the blizzard and what to expect from here on out.

1:20 p.m.: Ocean Boulevard is still closed, largely from Board's Head Terrace in Hampton to Odiorne Point in Rye. Eleven total spots are closed, and there are several sidestreets with multiple feet of water, including High Street.

12:05 p.m.: Expect to still see some flooding issues even though high tide was two hours ago. The massive snowfall will help, though, according to Rye Police Chief Kevin Walsh, because large snowbanks are acting like a barrier and blocking the water from damaging homes.

11:25 a.m.: Here's my favorite photo of the storm so far, from Judy Plam. Any guesses on how high this wave is?

11:10 a.m.: Check out this amazing North Hampton high tide video, complete with giant waves crashing over the sea wall, from Dan Tuohy.

10:58 a.m.: Jacqui Graham couldn't take her daily beach sunrise photo this morning, but she did capture this amazing wave photo along the North Beach wall. Add yours here.

10:57 a.m.: Readers reporting varying degrees of flooding along Hampton Beach. Mike Sidebottom: "Got some decent road flooding and waves crashing over the wall here at 6th Street, but no structural issues with the wall itself that I can see, but I'm sure there are issues elsewhere along this stretch."

10:49 a.m.: Police reporting no property damage yet due to the flooding, which is being held back by snowbanks on the west side of Route 1A.

10:37 a.m.: Up to roughly 21 inches of snow in Hampton now, according to meteorologists. High tide video to come.

10:26 a.m.: Several reports coming in about sea wall compromises along Ocean Boulevard. Also, just heard Rye Police Chief Kevin Walsh say on WMUR-TV that onlookers are creating problems for crews repairing the damaged sea wall. "Leave Ocean Boulevard," said Walsh.

10:20 a.m.: Ocean Blvd CLOSED from Boar's Head Terrace in Hampton to Odiorne Point in Rye, per NHDOT spokesman Bill Boynton.

10:08 a.m.: A New Hampshire Department of Transportation employee just drove by and said road Ocean Boulevard (Route 1A) is impassable in parts of North Hampton, where waves are cresting the sea wall and pouring onto the road. Hampton Police Chief Jamie Sullivan reportedly told WMUR that the flooding between High Street and Church Street is "substantial."

9:45 a.m.: Ocean Boulevard (Route 1A) is CLOSED from Church Street (Route 101) to High Street (Route 27) in Hampton, according to the Hampton Fire Department. The road will probably be partially closed in North Hampton soon, as some flooding has been reported and the waves already crashing over the sea wall — which usually washes into the road — as high tide is about to roll in.

9:37 a.m.: Plenty of business closures being reported on Facebook. Have you seen any? Tell us whether your business or your favorite business is open or closed today by posting in the comments!

9:24 a.m.: Salisbury, Mass., is being evacuated. Seacoast New Hampshire isn't yet, but I'll let you know if that changes.

8:55 a.m.: Various sources are reporting that Hampton and North Hampton have received between 14 and 24 inches so far. Where does your home fall in that range?

8:48 a.m.: How much snow's in your yard and on your street? Take a picture and post it here! Also be sure to post any closures or issues of which you know in the comments of this storm center article.

8:35 a.m.: Here's some video of the storm-charged tides, which should only get stronger at high tide approaches at 10 a.m.

Storm Preparation Tips

Via the New Hampshire Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management

  • Monitor weather conditions via news media, NOAA weather radio or Internet sources.
  • Limit road travel during the storm to allow public works crews to clear and treat the roads.
  • Anyone who has to drive should slow down and allow extra space between vehicles. Drivers could experience sudden whiteout conditions during high wind gusts.
  • Keep vehicle fuel tanks at least half full.
  • Monitor snow loading, especially on flat roofs.
  • Be a good neighbor and check on the well-being of relatives and acquaintances, especially the elderly or others with special needs.
  • If the power goes out:
    • Use flashlights and battery-powered lanterns, not candles, for emergency lighting.
    • Operate emergency generators safely, with exhaust directed away from buildings.
    • Never use outdoor cooking appliances indoors because of the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning.
    • Report the outage to your electric utility.
    • Stay clear of downed wires. Always assume downed power lines are live.
