New Snow 'Hotline' Created for Issues, Questions
Following an oversight involving four roads during a difficult snowstorm, public works is trying to improve how it responds in storms.

The Hampton Public Works Department has created a new reporting system to increase communication between the department and residents during snowstorms as part of a way to better serve the community.
Public Works Director Keith Noyes said a special e-mail account, "snow@hamptonnh.gov," has been established as a way to improve his department's response to plowing and sanding issues, concerns and questions.
Four roads were forgotten during last weekend's blizzard, and the new e-mail hotline is one of the ways the department — members of which Noyes said did a tremendous job over the weekend despite working for several days straight — hopes to improve its accessibility in urgent situations.

Noyes said all e-mails sent to the new snow line account, created with the help of town IT Director Paul Paquette, will be immediately forward to Noyes and Deputy Public Works Director Chris Jacobs. Noyes said in an e-mail that he and Jacobs "will share coverage of appreciable snow storms to ensure adequate responses to citizens concerns and complaints."
The snowline gives residents with concerns about unplowed roads or other snow-related questions or issues another way to contact the department. Residents can also still call public works at 926-3202 during snowstorms. If there is no answer on the department's phone line, residents can also contact the Hampton Police Department's business line.
