GREENLAND, NH — A GOP candidate running in 2026 to represent the first Congressional District is hosting a food drive to assist those in need during the federal government shutdown.

Hollie Noveletsky, the owner of Novel Iron Works in Greenland, will be hosting a food drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at her company’s location at 250 Ocean Road. She is requesting everyone, including Democrats also running for the open seat, to make donations of nonperishable food items. The donations will be collected and given to the New Hampshire Food Bank, she said.

“My entire life, I have tried to not just complain when there is a problem, but to take action and work to resolve the problem,” Noveletsky said. “Granite Staters are some of the most kind and charitable people out there and we step up for each other. I am hopeful that our work on Friday will be of great help to those who need it.”

Noveletsky said most elected Democrats have, so far, not shown interest in ensuring the troops were paid or those in need were assisted during the “Democrat Shutdown.” Instead, she added, “they’ve made it clear that they would rather fight to reinstate taxpayer-funded illegal immigrant healthcare, and billions of dollars in wasteful spending on liberal priorities.”

At publication, it is unknown whether Stefany Shaheen, Maura Sullivan, or the federal delegation will join Friday’s effort, Noveletsky said.
