North Hampton Declares Snow Emergency, Ban

North Hampton School will be used as an emergency warming center, if needed.

From North Hampton Police Chief Brian Page:

The North Hampton Highway Department in conjunction with Emergency Services has declared a snow emergency to begin on Friday February 8, 2013 at 2:30 pm through Sunday February 10 2013 at 7:00 am. This snow emergency strictly forbids on street parking that would hinder snow removal and the travel of emergency vehicles on state and town roads within the town of North Hampton. The police department will tow any unattended vehicles parked within the right of way and parking citations may be issued upon the vehicle being retrieved by the owner.

I would like to remind the residents of North Hampton that the installation of an
emergency generator at the North Hampton School was completed in December of 2006, so if an emergency warming center is needed due to due to power losses, flooding, etc., you are urged to call the police department or the fire/rescue department for assistance in relocating.

All residents are asked that if it is not imperative to operate a vehicle during a snow event of this type, then to refrain from doing so. Also, prior to these events residents are urged to update emergency kits with flashlights, radios, fresh batteries, water, etc.
