Cops Arrest MA Man At Hampton Hotel On CT Attempted Murder Charge
Jose A. Soto, 24, of Springfield, Mass., was arrested at an Ashworth Avenue hotel on an attempted murder warrant from Waterbury, Conn.

HAMPTON, NH — Hampton police have arrested a fugitive wanted for two counts of attempted murder in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Police were notified by the U.S. Marshals Service that a wanted person might be in town. U.S. Marshals advised Jose A. Soto, 24, of Springfield, Massachusetts, had warrants from Connecticut.
Soto was wanted on extraditable warrants for two counts of attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a permit, and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Police accused Soto of staying at a hotel in the area of Ashworth Avenue. Officers, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Rockingham County Sherriff’s Department, were able to safely and swiftly take Soto into custody on Ashworth Avenue with the assistance of the Seacoast Emergency Response Team.
Soto was transported to the Hampton Police Department and charged as a fugitive from justice. He is currently being held at the Rockingham County Jail on preventative detention pending arraignment on Monday at the Hampton District Court.

The arrest was made without incident and there were no injuries reported.
