Rescue Divers Jump from Helicopter

U.S. Coast Guard rescue divers jumped from a helicopter into the Atlantic Ocean during several drills Tuesday afternoon, between the Seacoast and the Isles of Shoals.

Coast Guard Station – Portsmouth Harbor confirmed it was a training exercise, but the joint helicopter-and-vessel drill caught the attention of numerous people driving, riding and walking along Ocean Boulevard in Rye and North Hampton. From shore, one could see the elite divers jump from the helicopter and then have a colleague conduct the rescue operation.
