School Investigated After 'Ammo' Found in Locker Room
Police were called to a local school after students found what they thought were rounds on a locker room floor.

The North Hampton Police Department was called to North Hampton School Thursday morning after students found an unspecified number of "starter pistol rounds" on the floor of the boys' locker room.
Chief Brian Page said the rounds were reported as unidentified "ammunition," although police quickly determined they weren't live rounds and pose "no danger to the community or school."
"Any students who may have been affected by this incident will receive services from the school," said Page. "Because the investigation of this incident is on-going and it involves a minor, neither the school nor the department will be able to discuss the identity of the child or what actions may occur as a result of the investigation; however, we will provide you with additional updates if they become available."
Page said that while there is no danger to the community due to the starter pistol rounds, he said "parents are urged to discuss with their children that playing with knives, ammunition and fire arms poses an unacceptable risk to themselves and others and that bringing these kinds of items to school cannot be tolerated."
The school held a safety forum Wednesday night in response to some concerns that arose in the community after one student threatened to shoot another with a shotgun last month.
Page said community members can contact him at 964-2198 if they have any questions or concerns following Thursday's investigation.
