Seabrook Officer Sued After Totalling Cruiser in Chase
The officer allegedly injured a North Hampton man after hitting his truck at 100+ mph during a pursuit in a 35 mph zone.

A North Hampton resident is seeking unspecified damages to cover medical bills for numerous injuries suffered after a Seabrook police officer struck his truck while the officer was driving over 100 mph during a Feb. 5, 2010, drug pursuit on Lafayette Road in North Hampton, according to the Union Leader.
Colin Chevalier has filed suit in Rockingham Superior Court against the town and officer Jeremy Tetreault, claiming Tetreault was driving negligently when he drove through a red light and crashed his cruiser into Chevailer's truck at the intersection of Route 111 and Route 1 in North Hampton, according to the Union Leader. The paper has reported that court documents claim Chevalier suffered severe and costly injuries to his back, neck and head, and also suffered left thumb pain, multiple cuts and abrasions, anxiety and other symptoms.
The paper also reported it isn't the first time Tetreault has faced a suit for actions during a police pursuit. In 2010, the Union Leader said the town of Seabrook settled an excessive force case against Tetreault, paying $37,500 to a Dracut, Mass., man who sued Tetreault and the town after Tetreault fired multiple rounds at the man during a high-speed chase. The town admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement and the plaintiff dropped his claims, according to the Union Leader.
