Seabrook Woman Facing Jail Time for Stealing Yu-Gi-Oh Cards

Also facing fines and jail time are an elderly man who fired a gun during a "scuffle" and eight arrested on drug and alcohol charges.

The following individuals were indicted in July by a Rockingham Superior Court grand jury. 

An indictment is not an indication of guilt or conviction; rather, it means a grand jury believed there was sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.


  • Kristin T. Chase, 29, of 16 M St., Apt. D, in Hampton, was indicted on a Class B misdemeanor driving or operating under the influence of drugs or liquor charge, felony possession of heroin charge, and a Class B misdemeanor possession of heroin charge. All the charges stem from an incident in Exeter on March 23.
  • James Clark, 70, of 200 Landing Road, Apt. 23, in Hampton, was indicted on a Class B misdemeanor reckless conduct charge for discharging a firearm "in close proximity" to another person in Hampton on April 5.
  • Carla J. Janvrin, 37, of 15 Folly Mill Terrace in Seabrook, was indicted on a variety of counts stemming from incidents in Portsmouth on May 4, including: a Class B felony attempted theft by unauthorized taking charge for stealing 15 packages of Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards from the Portsmouth Wal-Mart by placing them in her purse and leaving the store; a Class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge; and a breach of bail conditions set on Feb. 2 in Hampton District Court.
  • Ryan Matthew Landers, 31, of 9 Dover Road in Dover, was indicted on a Class A felony possession of heroin charge in connection to an incident in North Hampton on March 12. The charge carries a possible penalty of between 7 1/2 and 15 years in jail and up to a a $200,000, and the indictment states Landers was previously convicted on a sale of a controlled drug charge in July 2002.
  • Christopher McGlew, 33, of 21 Stoneledge Road in North Hampton, was indicted on a felony possession of heroin charge in connection to an incident in North Hampton on April 11.
  • Carlton D. Poe, 31, of 31 Elm St. in Newmarket, was indicted on a possession of cocaine charge and a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge in connection to an incident in Hampton on April 22. The indictment for the cocaine charge, which carries a penalty of 7 1/2 to 15 years of jail time and up to a $200,000 fine, states Poe was convicted of possession of a controlled drug in June 2010.
  • Kim Lee Reed, 45, with a current address within the Rockingham County House of Corrections, was indicted on a Class B felony possession of crack cocaine charge and Class B felony accomplice to possession of cocaine with intent to sell charge in connection to an incident on March 29 in Hampton. The former charge carries a fine of up to $25,000, while the latter carries a fine of up to $100,000.
  • Deric Lavalle Selman Jr., 33, with a current address within the Rockingham County House of Corrections, was indicted on a Class B felony possession of cocaine charge in connection to an incident on March 29 in Hampton. The charge carries a fine of up to $100,000.
  • Richard L. Tartaglia, 28, of 11 Perkins Avenue, Apt. 3, in Hampton, was indicted on a felony operating after certification as an habitual offender charge in connection to an incident on April 16. The charge carries a minimum sentence of 1 to 5 years in jail.
  • Travis Thornblade, 28, of 7 P St. in Hampton, was indicted on a Class B felony possession of heroin charge and two Class A misdemeanor driving or operating under the influence of liquor charges in connection to an incident in Exeter on March 22. Thornblade allegedly had a blood alcohol concentration of .16 or more.
