Seacoast's Taylor Chace to Defend Gold Medal in 2014 Paralympic Games

Taylor Chace will have a chance to add another prestigious award to his mantle, as the 27-year-old Hampton Falls man has been selected to represent the United States at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia, according to the Union Leader. 

Chace, a sled hockey defenseman, won the 2010 Paralympic Athlete of the Year award en route to leading the U.S. team to a gold medal at the 2010 Paralympic Games in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

The Union Leader has also reported that the University of New Hampshire alumnus, who suffered a incomplete spinal cord injury while playing hockey in 2002, won a silver medal and was named the most outstanding defenseman in April 2013 at the International Paralympic World Championships in South Korea.

Chace also played on the bronze medal-winning U.S. squad at the 2006 Paralympic Games in Torino, Italy, according to tournament records.
