Seacoast's Taylor Chace to Defend Gold Medal in 2014 Paralympic Games

The Hampton Falls man was named 2010 Paralympic Athlete of the Year after winning sled hockey gold at the Vancouver Games.

Taylor Chace will have a chance to add another prestigious award to his mantle, as the 27-year-old Hampton Falls man has been selected to represent the United States at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia, according to the Union Leader

Chace, a sled hockey defenseman, won the 2010 Paralympic Athlete of the Year award en route to leading the U.S. team to a gold medal at the 2010 Paralympic Games in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

The Union Leader has also reported that the University of New Hampshire alumnus, who suffered a incomplete spinal cord injury while playing hockey in 2002, won a silver medal and was named the most outstanding defenseman in April 2013 at the International Paralympic World Championships in South Korea.

Chace also played on the bronze medal-winning U.S. squad at the 2006 Paralympic Games in Torino, Italy, according to tournament records.
