Selfless Act Shows There Are 'Great Kids at Hampton Beach'
A child recently helped turn around a Hampton Beach visitor's rough day in an unexpected way.

Today's Photo of the Day is more of an uplifting story depicted in a photograph.
The above shot was shared Monday on the Hampton Beach - "Official" Facebook page, and the description included with it sums up the story behind the image nicely:
[Sunday], a lady come into the Chamber office who had just lost her purse, containing identification, CC and about $200 in cash. As she was making the report and trying to get her daughter to cancel the CC, she was visibly upset.
A family walked in and the young man held up a purse and said is this it? She was overjoyed. He had found it on the sidewalk and brought it in to the Chamber. All was intact. She gave him a reward for his good deed.
His name is Mathew Shepardson (see photo) and we are thrilled to know there are young people out there who are honest and willing to go out of their way to help out another Hampton Beach visitor.
There are great kids at Hampton Beach!

Betty Roy this so ironic because we are coming to Hampton Beach the 20th thru the 23rd for the sand sculpting contest and to renew our wedding vows on the 22nd, yesterday my foster son was asking me all kinds of questions about what if he finds a wallet or something what he would have to do with it and I told him we would take it to the chamber and turn it in so the rightful owner would be able to come pick it up and that would be the right thing to do. So this story was wonderful for him to read today as an inspiration to do what is right, thank you for sharing this story.
Sandra Baillargeon-Sheridan know the family, good people WTG Matty!
