St. Patrick's Day Benefit to Honor Slain Chief

Full details will soon be released about a special 12-hour event to honor Michael Maloney, a North Hampton native.

The New England Police Benevolent Association will hold an inaugural St. Patrick's Day fundraiser to honor the life of fallen Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney later this month.

The Chief Michael Maloney St. Patrick’s Day Benefit is scheduled for Sunday, March 17, from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., and the NEPBA will hold a press conference on Thursday, March 7, to release more details about the event, which has a suggested donation of $10, according to North Hampton Police Sgt. Josh Stockel.

Stockel said the press conference will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Locals Restaurant and Pub, located at 215 Lafayette Road in North Hampton.

Maloney, a North Hampton native and Winnacunnet High School graduate, was gunned down while saving wounded officers during a drug raid in Greenland in April 2012. Numerous benefits have been held in his honor, and a scholarship has also been established.
