Travel Trailer Overturns And Crashes Closing Interstate 95 For 2 Hours: NH State Police

NORTH HAMPTON, NH — An elderly woman from Wisconsin was not injured in a crash on Thursday on Interstate 95 in North Hampton, but her new camper sustained extensive damage, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Around 1:45 p.m., state troopers were called to the southbound side of the highway for a report of a travel trailer being towed by a pickup truck that had crashed. When they arrived, they found the trailer on its side and the highway blocked at Mile Marker 7.6.

“The preliminary investigation determined that Karen Lach, 74, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, had been driving a 2025 Nissan Frontier pickup truck towing a 2025 Grand Design travel trailer along I-95 southbound when the travel trailer began to sway,” state police said. “Lach lost control of the truck and the travel trailer overturned. The trailer came to rest on its side, blocking several lanes of the interstate.”

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and Lach was not injured. While the pickup sustained minor damage, state police said, “the damage sustained by the travel trailer was extensive.”

Three lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours during the cleanup and investigation. Assisting state police were North Hampton police and fire departments and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
