Warriors Can't Match Bulldogs' Might
Bedford knocked the Winnacunnet girls' basketball team from the playoffs during the state semifinal game.

The Winnacunnet High School girls' basketball team's bid for a sixth state title in the past seven years came to a tough end Thursday, as the sixth-ranked Warriors fell 62-34 against the third-ranked Bedford High School Bulldogs, according to NHIAA.org.
Bedford knocked off Winnacunnet (13-5 regular season, 2-0 playoffs) in the state semifinals, halting the Warriors' win streak at nine games. Melissa MacLeod and Maelan Castro lead the way offensively for WHS, with 12 and 7 points, respectively, accordng to NHIAA.org. Rachel Collins had 19 points for the Bulldogs.
Winnacunnet also dropped its only regular season matchup with Bedford 55-40 earlier this year.

Bedford will now play Bishop Guertin, which defeated Londonderry in the semifinals, in the state championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Southern New Hampshire University.
