There are three popular, family-friendly events in the area this weekend.

Live Music, Fireworks Highlight Food-Filled Annual Winter Celebration

Pancakes, coffee, sledding, a chili cook-off, a cookie bake-off and a bon fire are among many of the festivities planned for North Hampton's WinterFest 2013 at Dearborn Park on Saturday.

WinterFest begins at 8 a.m. and ends with a fireworks show at 6 p.m. There are numerous other family- and children-focused activities during the event, which is $7 per person and no more than $30 per family if tickets are purchased in advance.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 per person and no more than $40 per family. More information available here.

Students Helping Fight Hunger

The Winnacunnet High School Art Department's annual "Empty Bowls" fundraiser, a tradition for roughly 15 years, is on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Local students, parents and community members are invited to enjoy a bowl of locally-made soup, as well as the handcrafted bowl in which it's served, later this month as part of an annual fundraiser focused on combatting hunger in the Seacoast area.

Local Students Give It Their All in Annual Tournament

The third annual Winnacunnet High School Invitational Wrestling Tournament begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at WHS, and more than a dozen teams from around the area will put their skills to the test in a variety of weight classes.

Tickets for the tournament are $5 for adults and $3 for students. There will be a 50/50 raffle and various homemade dishes and baked goods available at the concession stand. More information available on the WHS wrestling website.

 

 

Also, Hampton Rotary's 6th Annual Pizza Bowl fundraiser is Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at WHS, while several local teams also have games.
