• ConVal School Board to vote on proposed budget at Dec. 16 meeting (ledgertranscript.com) — Hancock residents should know the ConVal School Board will vote Dec. 16 on a proposed 2026-27 budget that includes new boilers for Hancock Elementary School. The $60.7 million plan reflects modest overall growth, savings on staff benefits, and decisions still pending on trust funds, tax offsets, and returning $666,000 in legal-fee reimbursements to district taxpayers. Critical stipends were also approved to fill hard-to-hire teaching positions.
