In NCAA Division I men's soccer final four, NH connections are plentiful (unionleader.com) — Two key figures in this year’s NCAA men’s soccer Final Four, Washington coach Jamie Clark and star midfielder Richie Aman, both grew up in Hanover and played at Hanover High. Their journeys, along with other New Hampshire soccer standouts, highlight how local fields and coaches helped shape talent now competing on the national stage. 
2. Hanover modifies policy to align with state immigration laws (vnews.com) — Hanover’s Selectboard has revised the town’s Fair and Impartial Policing policy so local police now must comply with state immigration laws and ICE detainer requests. The change avoids steep state financial penalties while keeping language that bars officers from independently enforcing federal civil immigration law. Officials say the update is meant to clarify expectations for both police and Hanover residents and visitors.
3. Three-alarm fire damages Edgewater Farm co-owner's home (vnews.com) — A devastating three-alarm fire in Cornish left Edgewater Farm co-owner Ray Sprague’s historic home uninhabitable, but friends from nearby towns, including Hanover, quickly rallied to help with clothes and supplies. Firefighters from across the region battled sub-zero temperatures to save much of the 250-year-old brick house, while the family now leans on farm housing and local relatives as they rebuild their lives.
4. Cornish Police Chief Doug Hackett to retire (vnews.com) — Cornish Police Chief Doug Hackett will retire at year’s end after 39 years, while continuing his full-time role directing the Hanover Regional Emergency Communications Center during cancer treatment. His departure leaves Cornish with one full-time and one part-time officer as the town considers future staffing. Hackett says community support and mentoring younger officers have defined his career.
