Cornish Police Chief Doug Hackett to retire (vnews.com) — Cornish Police Chief Doug Hackett will retire at year’s end after 39 years, while continuing his full-time role directing the Hanover Regional Emergency Communications Center during cancer treatment. His departure leaves Cornish with one full-time and one part-time officer as the town considers future staffing. Hackett says community support and mentoring younger officers have defined his career.
