1. No fireworks in Londonderry, but ... Derry's Fourth of July fireworks will be held on Thursday at dusk (approximately 9 p.m.), with the best suggested viewing areas along Tsienneto Road, Hood Commons, Folsom Road and Crystal Avenue.

2. The weatherman says ... Rain and thunderstorms are likely today as the forecast, according to Weather.com, calls for a 80-percent chance of precipitation and a high of 80 degrees.

July 2, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. According to History.com:
