A former ambassador will be honored this Friday for his years of service at a dinner to take place in Londonderry.

Ambassador Joseph Petrone will receive recognition as part of a New Hampshire GOP event. The ceremony will take place at the N.H. Aviation Museum, which according to its website is the only working museum devoted to aviation history in the state.

Petrone served as Representative of the United States to the European Office of the United Nations from March 12, 1987 to July 27, 1989. He was the 11th of 18 people to hold the position, which was established in 1958.
