Apple Theft Suspects to be Arraigned Today
Two separate incidents took place last month.
Nine alleged apple theives will be arraigned in court this morning stemming from two incidents that took place in October.
According to a clerk at Derry District Court, the arraignments will take place at 8:15 a.m.
The first incident took place on Oct. 11 and involved a family of four who were all charged with theft by deception after allegedly attempting to load the trump of a car with apples.

Hang Wong, 58, Tony Wong, 57, and their two sons, Wai Wong, 27, and Steven Wong, 19, of 63 East Elm Avenue, Quincy, Mass. were all arrested. Wai Wong faces a separate charge of obstructing government administration.
In a second incident on Oct. 16, five more Massachusetts residents were charged with theft after a caller reported seeing them stealing apples at 11 p.m.

Joanne Liu, 42, of 912 Jetter Court, Brighton, Mass.; Li Zhu, 54, of 19 Porter St., Malden, Mass.; Xiao Fang Guan, 54, of 411 Newport Avenue, Quincy, Mass.; Yan Fen Yang, 57, of 1305 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, Mass.; and Zuo Zhu Xue, 41, of 196A Shore Drive, Quincy, Mass were all charged.
Bail was set at $1,500 personal recognizance for all nine arrests.
In a Londonderry Patch report on Oct. 22, LPD Capt. Gerry Dussault said that apart from the nine charged, apple theft arrests have been uncommon over the last 12 years, but he added that he remembers incidents being very common before that.
