Busy Schedule of Meetings Tonight in Londonderry

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: Today will see showers and wind with a high of 76, followed by rain, thunder and wind tonight with a low of 52.

2. PLENTY OF MEETINGS TO CHOOSE FROM: The Londonderry Town Council will meet at town hall tonight at 7. Also scheduled to meet is the Traffic Safety Committee at 6 p.m. in the Sunnycrest Conference Room, the Londonderry Housing and Redevelopment Authority at 7 p.m. in the Sunnycrest Conference Room and the Town of Londonderry International Exchange Committee in the Woodmont Conference Room.

3. LANCERS LOSE BIG: The Londonderry football squad lost big to Concord on Friday by a score of 43-7. The Lancers dropped to 2-3 and will next take on Merrimack this Friday at home.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 2003, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is elected governor of California, the most populous state in the nation with the world's fifth-largest economy. Despite his inexperience, Schwarzenegger came out on top in the 11-week campaign to replace Gray Davis, who had earlier become the first United States governor to be recalled by the people since 1921. Schwarzenegger was one of 135 candidates on the ballot, which included career politicians, other actors, and one adult-film star.
