'Cook Up a Cure for Brian' 5K Returns to Londonderry
Also, a fundraiser will take place tonight at Papa Gino's.

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: The heat is expected to continue in Londonderry today with a high of 89 and partly cloudy skies. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 67.
2. PAPA GINO'S FUNDRAISER: A fundraiser will be held at Papa Gino's Today to benefit "Team Alisa." Londonderry resident Alisa Macone was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2013. She has since undergone multiple surgeries and is currently receiving chemotherapy.
From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., 20 percent of all purchases at Papa Gino's in Londonderry will go to "Team Alisa." You must print out and bring a copy of the flyer, which can be found here.
3. REGISTER FOR 2ND ANNUAL 'COOK UP A CURE FOR BRIAN' RACE: The second annual "Cook Up a Cure for Brian" race will be held in Londonderry on Sept. 28.
Brian Winer, A Londonderry resident, was diagnosed with cancer on June 16, 2012 He learned that the cancer had spread to his brain and lung after suffering a seizure at work. The race is organized to raise funds for Brian.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1950, officials of the United States Lawn Tennis Association (USLTA) accept Althea Gibson into their annual championship at Forest Hills, New York, making her the first African-American player to compete in a U.S. national tennis competition.
