An accident Interstate 93 in Londonderry forced part of the busy highway to be shut down for nearly an hour on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 12:15 p.m., a red Ford 250 pickup truck struck the guardrail on the right side of I-93, causing extensive damage to both the guardrail and the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved.
The operator, whose name has not been released, was believed to have experienced some sort of a medical emergency, causing a loss of control of the vehicle. The crash is still under investigation.
The collision and resulting cleanup caused the highway to be shut down for approximately 40 minutes.
