Fire Disrupts Shopping Plans At The Mall Of New Hampshire
A massage chair caught fire overnight causing smoke in the mall. Firefighters and sprinklers extinguished the fire; damage causes issues.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Firefighters responded to the Mall of New Hampshire on Sunday for a fire alarm activation.
Dispatch received a call while units were responding reporting there was smoke in the food court and additional apparatus were added to the response. The first fire crew arrived at about 1:30 a.m. and had smoke showing in the mall area from a massage chair that appeared to have caught fire.
The mall’s fire sprinkler system activated and contained the fire to the area of origin.

There was water damage in the immediate area along with heavy smoke damage throughout the mall. Firefighters ejected smoke but the ventilation was difficult and ongoing.
Sunday morning the Mall of New Hampshire announced they will not be able to open a large portion of the mall on Sunday according to a report on WMUR.

UPDATE: The Mall of New Hampshire said most stores will be able to open with the exception of those who serve food. The food establishments will require inspection and approval from the Manchester Health Department before opening.
Deputy Chief Ken Proulx said the fire is under investigation by the Manchester Fire Department Fire Marshals Office. The cause of the fire is electrical, and the cost of the damage is unknown at this time. No one was injured in the incident.
