Investigation Continues Into Death Of 2-year-old Boy, His Mother

Update: A GoFundMe family fund has been created after 2-year-old Mason Tremblay and his mother Mercedes Tremblay were found dead on Monday.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police have cleared the scene on Bodwell Road where two people were found dead on Monday.

A teddy bear and sign expressing condolences were placed in a tree at the front entrance of the building where the victims were found in Manchester.

Mercedes Tremblay, 25, and her 2-year-old son Mason Tremblay were found dead inside of the first floor building.

Autopsies were completed by NH Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Weinberg and it was determined that Mercedes Tremblay died of a single gunshot wound of the head. The manner of death is generally classified as a homicide, suicide, or accidental and has not been determined and is pending further investigation according to the NH Attorney General’s Office.

The cause and manner of death of Mason Tremblay are pending further investigation.

On Monday around noon Manchester fire, EMS and several police officers flooded the area around the multi-unit building on Bodwell Road. Fire and EMS were cleared from the scene without transporting anyone from the scene. Police secured the scene and detectives worked at the building Monday afternoon until Tuesday afternoon when they cleared the scene.

The attorney general and police said Tuesday, based on the information to date, "there is no evidence to suggest that there is a threat to the general public" and "the investigation into this matter is active and ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available."

Police asked that anyone who had contact with either Mercedes Tremblay or Mason Tremblay since Dec. 6 is asked to call the Manchester Police Department Detective Unit at 603-668-8711
