Man Arrested In 2019 Child Drowning Incident At Manchester Hotel
Zachary Conway, 25, of Manchester is accused of negligent homicide in connection to a death of a 1-year-old who drowned at a local hotel.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police have made an arrest in the investigation involving the death of a 1-year-old at the Econo Lodge in 2019.
Zachary Conway, 25, of Manchester has been indicted on a charge of negligent homicide in connection to the death.
On Oct. 7, 2019, Manchester police responded to the Econo Lodge on West Hancock Street for a 1-year-old found unresponsive in a bathtub. At the time of the incident, the child was in the care of Conway. The child was taken to a local hospital but did not regain consciousness. The cause of death was later determined to be drowning.

“This incident was very difficult for the Manchester officers who first responded that day, as well as everyone involved in the case,” Allen Aldenberg, the chief of police in Manchester, said. “I want to recognize the time and unrelenting dedication put forth by the officers and detectives who have worked tirelessly to get justice for this young victim.”
Negligent homicide carries a maximum penalty of 10-30 years in the New Hampshire State Prison and a $4,000 fine. Conway is being held in another state on unrelated charges.
