Manchester Residents Told To Shelter In Place During Standoff

Police say Christopher Boisvert, 34, assaulted a man in a Bow Street house. He faces assault and felon in possession of a deadly weapon.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police responded to Bow Street for a report of an assault on Monday.

When they arrived they learned a 33-year-old man had been assaulted, and both the victim and the suspect Christopher Boisvert, 34 were still inside the residence at 81 Bow St. Officers, through their investigation, learned Boisvert was possibly armed and issued a shelter in place for Bow Street and the surrounding area. Police set up a perimeter shortly before 8 a.m. and were able to safely rescue the victim who was transported by AMR ambulance to a local hospital.

SWAT personnel arrived at the scene and attempted to communicate with Boisvert over a loudspeaker. After a short time, Boisvert came outside of the residence. Police said Boisvert was arrested without further incident. Police cleared the residence and the shelter in place was lifted.

Boisvert was charged with felony first-degree assault and felon in possession of a deadly weapon as well as resisting arrest according to MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel.

Boisvert will appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court to determine bail status.
